Local official reporting
Most local officials have an economic interest statement due within 60 days of their appointment dates
If you are elected or appointed as a local official of a metropolitan governmental unit, you are required to file a statement disclosing certain financial relationships and sources of income. You are also required to update this statement in January of each year.
Local officials file with their local unit of government, not with the Board.

Conflict of interest disclosure required
An official of a metropolitan governmental unit must disclose conflicts of interests and take action to avoid those conflicts.
Gifts from lobbyists or principals to officials are prohibited
Once you become a local official you cannot accept gifts from lobbyists (with very few exceptions). The gift prohibition is very inclusive. Even a cup of coffee and a doughnut is usually prohibited. Learn more at the gift prohibition link to the right.
